A route trip is the ultimate pickup. It’s the journey. non the finish. so don’t haste. Absorb the scenery. visit unusual attractive forces. eat in roadside diners. strike hard back a few cold 1s in local tap houses. and strike up conversations with aliens. The unexpected is portion of any memorable route trip. During 4 1/2 decennaries. the two of us have driven more than 250. 000 stat mis while touring the USA in a assortment of vehicles including four VW campers. We have motored through all 50 provinces ( we flew to Hawaii ) . All the trips were gratifying and educational. but five stand out. The Pacific Coast Highway.
The USA’s premiere route trip winds 1. 700 stat mis along the Pacific Coast from southern California to Washington’s Olympic Peninsula. The scenery is breathtaking with Michigans that include Hearst Castle. Big Sur. San Francisco. Point Reyes National Seashore. Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area and Olympic National Park. Open the Windowss and bask the fresh air as you drive across the Golden Gate Bridge and watch elephantine container ships glide underneath. Stare in admiration at the looming redwoods of northern California.

Stop in Tillamook. Ore. . and bask a circuit of the Cheese Factory. Walk the beach in the Kalaloch country of Washington’s Olympic Peninsula and regenerate your spirit with the ocean zephyr and thumping breaker. It would be easy to pass most of a summer on this dramatic route trip. We know. because we did. Florida State Highway A1A and the Overseas Highway.
This 600-mile trip hints Florida’s Atlantic coastline from nor’-east of Jacksonville to Key West. Interesting stops along the manner include St.
