White Water Rafting The tourists piled out of the bus after a 2 hour ride. One by one they realized the fresh air and the lack of civilization. A few houses surrounded the road but mostly blocked by the vast forest surrounding them. They realized just then what they had gotten into, a whole day without the civilized world. Finally after not knowing for a good half hour what was expected of them someone yells “Back to the Bus! ” They said 10 more minutes. It seemed more like another 30 minutes. To the right destination this time apparently the place they stopped at was to change into their swim suits.

Once again they pilled out of the bus; the age range seemed to vary from 14 to 18 but a few occasional older people. The walk to the river shore was short but all the tourists could notice was the boats being pulled out of the mini vans that drove them. Each boat could contain 3 people. They were yellow someone screamed “It looks like a banana! ” The guide directed the females first and explained to them how to put these god-awful black wet suits. The females of course changed in the bus while the males changed in the open field not afraid of showing there bodies.

Finally after an hour of blowing the rafts up, getting dressed, and explanations, the guide screams “OFF YOU GO! But be careful please and leave the life vest on not off! ” All of a sudden like animals fighting for food, the tourists run with the boats to see who’s going to get in first, and paddle off, like if it were the Olympics. Everyone slowly getting in and all of a sudden from the silence of the forest to the loud screaming of kids! The frustration and noise they made over the temperature of the river, some of the tourists had accidentally fallen into the water the shock of the temperature made then shriek.

Slowly the inexperienced tourists start paddling, most of them going in circles because of the lack of knowledge in stirring. Screaming of directions and sides “right right, now left that’s not left! ” the boats slowly heading downward, but the guide knows the way. The guide screams upward and the directions change in an instant. People rushing to get first, people hitting the branches sticking from the water, hitting the banks there was no control what so ever in any of the boats.

All of a sudden after a mile of rowing a row of beautiful waterfalls hit the tourists eyes everyone with whatever leftover strength they had road to the bank near the waterfall. People placing the boats in any space they found, circling around trying to find a space for the boat. “Climb up! ” The guide shouts, one by one the tourists slip up the waterfall falling and slipping on the slippery ground, the nature looking pool just for the tourists, excites them as they one by one splash in. About two hours passed and slowly the tourists get fed up and they now start downward, Its easier people complain down stream.

They pass the starting point, and after passing a half hour later a small waterfall appears. The guide goes first and like one with the water people head downward with there boats a little shrill creeps through the tourist an adrenalin rush and unexpectedly they scream. They thought this was just the beginning they thought it would get rougher and the waterfalls bigger. But the next waterfall came and it was small again, and the one after that, disappointment crept on the tourists faces they wanted more.

The pain in there hands started to become obvious and the pace slowed down the group split the faster ones and the slower ones. The guides are used to it, we come to the next waterfall and we come to a stop all the boats are parked, and a game is played, hit the paddle while the waterfall pulls u down. After a good hour or so the people swam, jumped, played around and again some got tired and sat in there boats. The guides seeing so direct them down the bigger waterfall the excitement from the first waterfall doubles and the tourists are satisfied.

They row again and the tourists feel a hunger, they don’t know what time it is they don’t know that lunch had been long over do. But the guides didn’t tell them to bring their lunches or there drinks or for that fact anything! The hunger grows and the tourists get restless. Finally the tourists arrive at the last waterfall and the last destination a restaurant, everyone piles in, and wiped down, dress in warmer clothes and best of all they ate cevapi the delicates of the country they were in. And back they were on the bus ready for another 2 hour ride except this time everyone would be sleeping, form the tiredness.
